A Free FTP on Internet Explorer? YES There is!
Like any FTP Client, you need to know 3 things to connect (1) the address, (2) the user name, and (3) the password.
- Open Internet Explorer (the big E)
- In address bar type ftp://hostname/address -- for example, to connect to REVNet I would type ftp://ftp.rev.net
- Opens up page in IE telling you to click on PAGE (upper right hand side) - Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer
- Message box pops up asking for
- Username: type in your username ex. webpage1
- Password: type in your password ex. fred357
- Logon -- your web host opens up your files in a window - make window small
- Then open the file on your computer (like your webpage) that you want to FTP - make window small
- Drag and Drop files from one to other
